How does a taxi dispatch system work?
Here is a brief overview of how our dispatch system works
Ride request
A passenger initiates a ride request using a taxi app. The passenger provides location information, destination, and any specific preferences (e.g., vehicle type, payment method).
Geolocation
The system uses GPS or other location-based technologies to determine the user's current location.
Drivers match
The system matches the passenger with an available driver based on factors like proximity, vehicle type, and the driver's current availability.
Driver availability
The system searches for available taxi drivers in proximity to the passenger's location, either through a central dispatch center or a mobile app.
Taxi dispatch
The driver receives the ride request on their mobile device or through a central dispatch center and picks up the passenger.
Ride tracking
Passengers can track the driver's location and ETA in real-time using the taxi app or other communication channels.
Ride confirmation
The system notifies the passenger with details about the assigned driver, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and the vehicle's number.
Ride completion
Once the ride is completed, the driver updates the application, and the passenger makes payment using their preferred payment method (e.g., cash, credit card, mobile wallet).
Payment processing
The system processes the payment and provides an electronic receipt to the passenger. Drivers can accept online payments, credit card payments, or cash payments.
Data analytics
The system collects data on passenger preferences, ride history and other relevant metrics to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
